Terms of Service

Please read these Terms carefully before using Rankfolio. They cover how listings, bidding, and payments work, and what we do and don't promise.

1. Who these terms are between

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Rankfolio(“Rankfolio”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, submitting a listing, or otherwise using Rankfolio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What the service is

Rankfolio is a public leaderboard. Anyone can submit a freelancer or agency listing and place a bid; listings are ranked purely by current bid amount, highest first, with ties broken by whichever listing reached that amount earliest. Position on the board is determined entirely by this mechanic — it is not an endorsement, review, verification, or recommendation of any kind by Rankfolio.

3. No guarantee of outcomes

A higher position may increase visibility, but Rankfolio makes no promise, warranty, or guarantee about traffic, profile views, outbound clicks, inquiries, leads, sales, or any other business outcome resulting from your listing or bid. Past performance shown for any listing is not indicative of future results. You are solely responsible for evaluating whether bidding is worthwhile for you.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Listing content

You are solely responsible for the content of your listing, including your name, role, description, skill tags, and linked website. You represent that you have the right to post this content and that it does not infringe on any third party’s rights, contain false or misleading claims, or violate any applicable law. We may remove, suspend, or refuse any listing at our discretion, including for content we reasonably believe is spam, fraudulent, impersonating another person or business, or otherwise inappropriate.

6. Bidding and payments

Placing or raising a bid requires a one-off payment processed by our payment provider. The minimum opening bid is $1; amounts above that are set by you at the time of listing or when raising your bid. Payments are one-off charges, not subscriptions — you are only charged when you choose to submit or raise a bid. A listing is published or a bid increase applied only after payment is confirmed. Your bid amount is public and displayed on the leaderboard.

7. Refunds

Because a bid immediately and irreversibly changes your position on a live, shared leaderboard, all payments are final and non-refundable once processed, except where required by applicable law or where we determine in our sole discretion that a technical error caused you to be charged incorrectly. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will investigate in good faith.

8. Being outbid

Any other user may place a higher bid at any time, which will move your listing to a lower position. This is the core mechanic of the service. We will notify you when this happens, but we are not responsible for any change in your position, visibility, or the outcomes that follow from it.

9. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to: submit false or impersonating listings; use the service to distribute malware, scams, or illegal content; attempt to manipulate ranking through fraudulent payments, chargebacks, or automated bidding; scrape or bulk-extract listing data beyond normal use; or interfere with the security or normal operation of the service.

10. Reporting and moderation

Anyone can report a listing they believe violates these Terms. We review reports and may suspend or remove listings, with or without notice, at our discretion. Removal of a listing for a Terms violation does not entitle you to a refund of any payment made for that listing.

11. Third-party services

Listings link out to third-party websites you do not control and which we do not operate, vet, or endorse. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or conduct of any linked site. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider under its own terms; we do not store your full payment card details.

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rankfolio and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date below. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
